Read Quick is a simple decoding method for learning to read.

Easy to Teach and Easy to Learn

ESL and ELL students are taught an accurate, rapid method for decoding over 92% of all English words, including multi-syllable words, for improving their reading skills for literacy and reading comprehension.  This is a significant breakthrough for ESL, ELL and all emerging readers.

Read Quick develops decoding skills this group of learners need to unlock words as they read silently and orally.  Using a 3-Step System, based on new technology for decoding to pronounce words, students will learn forty seven 2 to 5 letter clusters called Combinations, taught much like teaching the alphabet.  Students will need only to memorize the Combinations and underline them in a word.  Combinations replace the need for syllables and this is critical for word pronunciation to develop reading strategies for ESL and ELL learners.

The simplicity of learning to read is the true Power of Read Quick

Words are quickly and accurately pronounced when the word is marked, using only 3 simple steps.  The 3-Step System methodically guides readers through the following:
Teach ESL Students 1)  Always begin with underlining the Combinations.
2)  Mark C, G, & Y letters, we call Borrowers by writing the sound they borrow over the letter, following simple rules.
3)  Students will then see vowels, not part of a Combination, and mark them either long or short, based on two long vowel rules.

The word is now controlled, eliminating the need to guess.

Reading Software Lessons are   SEE & HEAR  -  SEE & SAY  -  SEE & DO

Combination sounds are 'speech perfect' and used by speech teachers for corrective speech in their classes for ESL students to learn English reading.  Readers now have a direct line from seeing the letters to knowing their sounds to word fluency and reading.

It is not necessary to isolate affixes from a base word when using the Read Quick method to pronounce a word.  When affixes are thought of as part of the base word, the system decodes them precisely, making the entire process easy to teach and learn.  It just makes sense to teach the whole word rather than teach the base word, all the affixes and their meanings separately.  Reading vocabulary will improve as unfamiliar words make sense to the "reading brain."

The longer the word, the more reliable and accurate the system in controlling the word; an important feature for ESL and ELL struggling readers, allowing them to have a more rapid path to reading success.

The "new" reading software, audio CD/MP3, provides additional reinforcement in hearing correct English sounds while following along with Combination chart, Student Bookmarker or worksheets from Teacher's Manual.  This total process of reinforcing speech and reading helps students learn and process correct English.

The best reading strategy for teaching and learning word fluency, vocabulary, comprehension and English speech, is dialoging, while reading English text.  Direct teaching is the most rapid and comprehensive reading strategy for immediately addressing student needs, based on their answers.  Read Quick is designed to rapidly decode unknown words during oral reading to speed the reading process.  This is the best strategy known by anyone that understands how to comprehensively and permanently teach any struggling reader or bilingual student.   (Suggested  reading from the PDF Download section of this website are:

Laminated 3"x 8" Student Bookmarker should stay with the learner as long as needed.  The 47 Combinations, Borrowers C, G, & Y, with rules, and the 3-Step System are on the front side, all 2 sound Combinations are repeated on the back in sample words. Blends are listed across the bottom.  Bookmarker should be used as a constant student reference.
